Tim Chuey Weather
Here is my weekly weather quiz question for the last time. What is a “Monsoon? ” Here is the correct answer. A Monsoon is a thermally driven wind arising from differential heating between a land mass and the adjacent ocean that reverses its direction seasonally.

An Upper Level Low Pressure Trough (“U” shape) keeps our weather pattern stable with normal temperatures. The graphics for days 1-3  show a cold front pushing through the Pacific Northwest Monday. The graphics for days 3-7   Wednesday through Sunday show no frontal activity pushing into or through Oregon during the period until a front shows up to our northwest Wednesday through next Friday. So far the smoke has been staying in Eastern Lane County, but if the winds shift that might not be the case.
