Tim Chuey Weather

Here is my weekly weather quiz question for the last time. What is “NCEP”? Here is the correct answer. NCEP is the National Centers for Environmental Prediction. A part of the National Weather Service which provides nationwide computerized and manual guidance to Warning and Forecast Offices concerning the forecast of basic weather elements.

An Upper Level Low Pressure Trough and surface cold fronts finally brought some rain to the Pacific Northwest. The precipitation has decreased the intensity of the wildfire smoke which can still push into the Pacific Northwest from various areas depending on the wind direction. The graphics for days 1-3  show a frontal system that will moving through Oregon tonight and Monday. The graphics for days 3-7   Wednesday through Sunday show frontal activity Wednesday and Thursday. Another cold front approaches from the far northwest next Saturday and moving in next Sunday.

CHILDREN, THE ELDERLY, AND THOSE WITH A COMPROMISED IMMUNE SYSTEM SHOULD USE EXTRA CAUTION AS THEY ARE MORE VULNERABLE TO TO ILLNESSES FROM WATERBORNE BACTERIA. VISITORS SHOULD AVOID WADING IN NEARBY CREEKS, POLS OF WATER ON THE BEACH, OR IN DISCOLORED WATER, AND STAY CLEAR OF WATER RUNOFF FLOWING INTO THE OCEAN.
