Here is my weekly weather quiz question for the last time. What is the “Numerical Weather Prediction?” Here is the correct answer. Numerical Weather Prediction is the same as Numerical Forecasting; a computer forecast or prediction based on equations governing the motions and the forces affecting motion of fluids. The equations are based, or initialized, on specified weather or climate conditions at a certain place and time.

Upper Level High Pressure (“Arch” shape) is now moving toward us. An atmospheric river is aimed at us bringing more rain. The graphics for days 1-3 show the a frontal system moving through the Pacific Northwest Saturday with another following behind it. The graphics for days 3-7 Wednesday through Sunday show a complex frontal system will be pushing toward the coast Thursday then sliding through Oregon Friday and another front approaching the coast Saturday to push through next Sunday.
Note: In case you forgot to turn your clocks back one hour last night. Standard time begins officially at 2 am today. We Fall Back! Also, the authorities say you should check your Smoke Alarm, CO2 Alarm, and your Radon Alarm to make sure the batteries are still charged. Replace if necessary.
