Here is my weekly weather quiz question. What is  an “Occluded Front?”

_______________

  • AN AIR STAGNATION ADVISORY IS IN EFFECT UNTIL 11 AM MST SATURDAY FOR THE OREGON LOWER TREASURE VALLEY.

__________

We’re caught between two low pressure areas.  The graphics for days 1-3  show the frontal system that pushed through Pacific Northwest Wednesday and the next coming Saturday. The graphics for days 3-7   Sunday through Thursday show the front that will have moved through Saturday night and Sunday. A cold front slides in Wednesday with another complex frontal system developing offshore next Thursday.
