Here is my weekly weather quiz question for the last time. What is “The Ozone Layer“? Here is the correct answer.  The Ozone Layer is an atmospheric layer that contains a high proportion of oxygen that exists as ozone. It acts as a filtering mechanism against incoming ultraviolet radiation. It is located between the troposphere and the stratosphere, around 9.5 to 12.5 miles (15 to 20 kilometers) above the earth’s surface.

An Upper Level Low Pressure Trough (“U” shape) is sitting along the coast. The graphics for days 1-3  show a cold front just offshore and moving in through California and Nevada. The graphics for days 3-7    Tuesday through Saturday show a frontal system offshore Tuesday and sliding along the California coast through Wednesday. A complex frontal system will be off the Oregon coast to our northwest next Friday then pushing through the Pacific Northwest between Friday and next Saturday.
