Here is my weekly weather quiz question for the last time. What is “The Ozone Layer“? Here is the correct answer.  The Ozone Layer is an atmospheric layer that contains a high proportion of oxygen that exists as ozone. It acts as a filtering mechanism against incoming ultraviolet radiation. It is located between the troposphere and the stratosphere, around 9.5 to 12.5 miles (15 to 20 kilometers) above the earth’s surface.

An Upper Level Low Pressure Trough (“U” shape) is moving inland to be replaced by Upper Level High Pressure.  The graphics for days 1-3  show a cold front just offshore and moving in through California and Nevada. The graphics for days 3-7     Wednesday through Sunday show a frontal system sliding along the California coast Wednesday and Thursday. Another  complex frontal system will slide through the California coast to our northwest next Friday then pushing down the California coast Friday through next Sunday.
