Tim Fassbender correctly answered the question. Here it is again. What time zone or zones help to tell the time at both the North and South Poles?

Here is his answer. There is no permanent human presence at the North Pole, and no particular time zone has been assigned. Polar expeditions may use any time zone that is convenient, such as GMT, or the time zone of the country they departed from. The South pole has numerous manned facilites but normally time there is based upon New Zealand time zone since that is where their supplies are generaly sent from. I suppose you could say both poles are based upon GMT time with corrections to whichever national time zone they wish to coordinate from. For six months of the year the south pole doesn’t see the sun so being a Land Surveyor I couln’t give you a sun shot for half a year to tell you the correct time.

The most common time zone used is UCT, Universal Coordinated Time, also known as GMT (Greenwich Mean Time ) which is the time in Greenwich, England.

There will be another weather quiz question next Monday.
