Here is my new weekly weather quiz question for the last time. “What is a “Psychrometer?” Here is the correct answer. A Psychrometer is an instrument used to measure the water vapor content of the air; a hygrometer consisting essentially of two similar thermometers with the bulb of one being kept wet so that the cooling that results from evaporation makes it register a lower temperature than the dry one and with the difference between the readings constituting a measure of the dryness of the atmosphere.
An Upper Level High Pressure Ridge (“Arch” shape) is strengthening and has taken over with warmer and dry weather. The graphics for days 1-3 show a frontal system approaching the Pacific Coast today. The graphics for days 3-7 Wednesday through Sunday show the frontal system that pushes through the Pacific Northwest Wednesday and next Sunday.
