Here is my weekly weather quiz question for the last time. “What is “Rime Ice?” Here is the correct answer. Rime Ice is an opaque coating of tiny, white, granular ice particles caused by the rapid freezing of supercooled water droplets on impact with an object. See also clear ice.

An Upper Level Low Pressure Trough (“U” shape ) is approaching the West Coast bringing unsettled weather. The graphics for days 1-3 show a frontal system moving into Oregon Tuesday. The graphics for days 3-7 Wednesday through Sunday show a cold front that will push into the Pacific Northwest Friday and Friday night. A complex frontal system will be well to our Northwest next Monday.
