Here is my weekly weather quiz question for the last time. “What are “Sastrugi?” Here is the correct answer. Sastrugi are ridges of snow formed on a snow field by the action of the wind.

____________

An Upper Level High Pressure Ridge (“Arch” shape) strengthens again bringing more sunshine. The graphics for days 1-3  show no frontal systems moving through Oregon, but a weak front will be offshore Sunday. The graphics for days 3-7    Tuesday through Saturday show a frontal system will be moving through Oregon next Tuesday and another will be offshore next Friday, then pushing into the Pacific Northwest next Saturday.
