Here is my weekly weather quiz question for the last time. What is a “Squall?” Here is the correct answer. A Squall is a strong wind characterized by a sudden onset in which the wind speed increases at least 16 knots and is sustained at 22 knots or more for at least one minute. 2. In nautical use, a severe local storm considered as a whole, that is, winds and cloud mass and (if any) precipitation, thunder and lightning.

A strong Upper Level Low Pressure Trough continues onshore airflow and shower chances for a while. The graphics for days 1-3  show the cold frontal system that moved in today.  The graphics for days 3-7   Tuesday through Saturday show a cold front sliding through the Pacific Northwest between Tuesday and Wednesday with yet another front following behind it next Saturday.
