Here is my weekly weather quiz question for the last time. What is a “Storm Surge?” Here is the correct answer. A Storm Surge is an abnormal rise in sea level accompanying a hurricane or other intense storm, whose height is the difference between the observed level of the sea surface and the level that would have occurred in the absence of the cyclone. Storm surge is usually estimated by subtracting the normal or astronomic tide from the observed storm tide.

An Upper Level High Pressure is still in charge of our weather pattern, but cold fronts still manage to break through, The graphics for days 1-3 show the cold front that pushed over the top of the high pressure ridge today. The graphics for days 3-7 Tuesday through Saturday show frontal activity moving in next Tuesday through Thursday.
