That persistent  Upper Level High Pressure Ridge (“Arch” shape) is continues sending cold air from the north over the Pacific Northwest keeping us colder than normal for the Pacific Northwest. The graphics for days 1-3 show no frontal systems in or approaching the Pacific Northwest until a cold front approaches from the northwest Thursday. The graphics for days 3-7    Friday through Tuesday show that cold front that pushed through early Friday, then a stationary front plants itself just inland of the West Coast.
