A trough of low pressure (“U” shape on the jet stream) is sliding southward and eastward and lengthening. That trough is producing rain and snow showers with the snow staying mostly in the higher elevations. A frontal system will bring even more rain to us today. The Vernal Equinox arrived at 10:14 PM PDT Monday night ushering in the season of Spring. (The earliest Spring in 116 years.) Another frontal system will be aimed at us Friday bringing even more rain.
