Upper level high pressure (Shaded “Arch” shape with blue arrows) cleared us out for a while returning the sunshine. An upper level low (Shaded “U” shape) is taking over pushing a frontal system through the Pacific Northwest bringing rain and dropping temperatures drastically today. It looks like there will be just a slight chance of showers for the long Memorial Day Holiday weekend.

An upper level low (Shaded “U” shape) is moving away from us as a short-lived high pressure center takes over for today at least. A frontal system that spread rain or showers throughout the Pacific Northwest has pretty much fallen apart. Look for sunshine today to end your weekend on a brighter note. This weekend is the 106th celebration of the Rhododendron Festival in Florence. There should be plenty of bright sunshine to enjoy.

An upper level low (Shaded “U” shape) has moved up to the Oregon coast shifting the airflow from the southwest increasing our chances for rain for a while. A frontal system is spreading rain throughout the Pacific Northwest. Today is the anniversary of the awakening of Mt. St. Helens back in 1980. This weekend is the 106th celebration of the Rhododendron Festival in Florence. Yes, there will be rain today, remember it usually doesn’t rain all day. There will be breaks so don’t let a little water spoil the celebration. Sunday will see bright sunshine by the afternoon so enjoy it. Remember, if it does rain and you get wet that this celebration is for the “Rhody” which likes and needs rain.
