_______________
The jet stream is bringing the air to us from the Northwest (Gulf of Alaska) as you can see with the shaded area and the blue arrows. That has started to change us from the warmer than normal Spring-like weather back to a more late winter pattern with falling snow levels. We’ve already seen a few snow flakes mixed in with the raindrops Monday afternoon in the Eugene -Springfield area. A cold front has already pushed through Oregon. Behind it is much colder aloft and a surface frontal system offshore that will also sweep into Oregon. This will be good for skiers and won’t last too long to hamper gardeners for too long. Other storms will head toward us, but late in the week a strong storm will push in bringing more precipitation.

Here is this week’s weather quiz question. What is the “snow eater”? Please place your answer as a comment after the forecasts on this page. The first person to post the correct answer will win one week of free forecasts tailored to your personal needs. Good luck.
_______________
The jet stream is bringing the air to us from the Northwest (Gulf of Alaska) as you can see with the shaded area and the blue arrows. That will change us from the warmer than normal Spring-like weather back to a more late winter pattern with falling snow levels. We’ve already seen a few snow flakes mixed in with the raindrops this afternoon in the Eugene -Springfield area. A cold front has already pushed through Oregon. Behind it is much colder aloft that will also sweep in along the surface. This will be good for skiers and won’t last too long to hamper gardeners for too long. Other storms will head toward us, but late in the week a strong storm will push in bringing more precipitation.
