An upper level low (Shaded “U” shape) has moved up to the Oregon coast shifting the airflow from the southwest increasing our chances for rain for a while. A frontal system will move through the Pacific Northwest spreading showers ahead of and behind it. High pressure will try to dry us out, but it won’t last very long. Another upper level low will move in and a frontal system should be approaching the Oregon coast by Monday. This weekend is the 106th celebration of the Rhododendron Festival in Florence. Yes, there will be a chance of rain Friday and Sunday but the chances are very high Saturday. Remember, if it does rain and you get wet that this celebration is for the “Rhody” which likes and needs rain.
