A weakening area of High Pressure (Shaded “Arch” shape with blue arrows) will keep us dry and in sunshine again today.  Upper level Low Pressure (Shaded “U” shape with blue arrows) gives us the impetus for a change in our weather pattern. A frontal system is shown approaching the coast on Friday. There’s another cause for increased rain chances. Take a look at the frontal system that will be moving through the Pacific Northwest a week from today. The 2016 Olympic Team Trials that run through next Sunday July 10th at Hayward Field will encounter at least a chance of showers, as you can see in the forecast, from Thursday through the rest of the trials.

frontal system moved through the Pacific Northwest, but it washed out bringing only a few more clouds with almost no noticeable difference in our weather. Looks like some typical Oregon Summertime sunny and dry weather today for Independence Day. Upper level Low Pressure (Shaded “U” shape with blue arrows) gives us the impetus for a change in our weather pattern. A frontal system is shown approaching the coast on Friday. Note: Please consider your neighbors when discharging fireworks, which by statute in Eugene should only be used on Monday the 4th. Also, be very careful to put out all spent fireworks to prevent accidental fires. If possible, keep pets indoors to lessen the jarring boom of  mainly the illegal fireworks. Proudly fly your American Flag.

Here is my weekly weather quiz question for the last time. What is a “Spring Tide?” Here is the correct answer. A Spring Tide is a tide higher than normal which occurs around the time of the new and full moon. I’ll have a new weather quiz question for you starting Monday. Please remember to post your answer as a comment by clicking on “no comments /comments” in the upper right hand portion of this page under the caption, then add your comment. The first person to post the correct answer will win a week of free personalized weather forecasts tailored to your needs. The answer has to be a comment to win. An email answer will not count. Good luck.

frontal system moved through the Pacific Northwest, but it washed out bringing only a few more clouds with almost no noticeable difference in our weather. Looks like some typical Oregon Summertime sunny and dry weather for Independence Day. Upper level Low Pressure (Shaded “U” shape with blue arrows) gives us the impetus for a change in our weather pattern. A frontal system is shown approaching the coast on Friday. There’s the cause of the rain chances. The 2016 Olympic Team Trials that run through July 10th at Hayward Field will encounter at least a chance of showers from Thursday through the rest of the trials.
