Advisories: A FREEZE WARNING IS IN EFFECT FROM 3 AM UNTIL 9 AM THURSDAY FOR THE SOUTH CENTRAL OREGON COAST. A AIR STAGNATION ADVISORY IS IN EFFECT UNTIL 4 AM SATURDAY FOR CENTRAL DOUGLAS COUNTY, EASTERN CURRY COUNTY, JOSEPHINE COUNTY, AND JACKSON COUNTY.

________________

An upper level high pressure ridge (“Arch” shape on the yellow line) will take control over the Pacific Northwest today through the rest of the week. Toward the weekend the upper air flow will be coming more from the Northwest bringing a frontal system (position shown on Sunday) and the chances of rain back for at least part of the weekend as the rain should return Sunday with another wave possible on Monday. The snow levels still will come down low enough to increase the possibility of some serious mountain snow, but it doesn’t look like it will be enough to help the skiing operations. So far at least the snow should stay away from the valley floor. Mt. Ashland is closed now due to poor snow conditions. Hoodoo is officially open (as usual closed Wednesdays). Willamette Pass will be open on a limited basis for the upcoming weekend Friday, Saturday and Sunday. Please check their web sites for the latest details and updates.

Advisories:  NONE AT THIS TIME.

________________

There will be a dry period for the rest of the weekend as an upper level high pressure ridge (“Arch” shape on the yellow line) continues to hold control over the Pacific Northwest. A frontal system will be pushed in by an upper level low (“U” shape on yellow line) Monday giving us a short burst with chances for rain. Then high pressure returns and  it looks like the rest of next week will be dry. The snow levels still will not come down low enough or long enough to increase the possibility of some serious mountain snow. Mt. Ashland is closed now due to poor snow conditions. Hoodoo is officially open (as usual closed Wednesdays). Willamette Pass will be open on a very limited basis for today. Please check their web sites for the latest details and updates.
